ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Providing strategic communications advice to the CEO of a major international financial institution that orchestrated a $9 billion takeover deal;

 

  • Working extensively at the top end of the financial services sector, including with major accounting, banking and insurance firms in Australia and abroad;

 

  • High level interaction with the water industry (at CEO and Chairman of Board level) in the lead up to the introduction of Victoria's desalination plant and in the wake of the final report of the 2011 Queensland Flood Inquiry, including offering strategic advice, issues and crisis management and delivering intensive media training;

 

  • Orchestrating a mainland tour of Australia for Tasmanian Premier in the wake of the Port Arthur tragedy, to thank Australians for their support and urge them not to boycott Tasmania as a tourist destination (a campaign that received four public relations awards and commendations for excellence);

 

  • Assisting in the formulation of a major Equal Employment Opportunity report to the Affirmative Action Agency for the Colonial Group;

 

  • Developing detailed community, arts and sports-based sponsorships for Tower Life Australia, including associations with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Opera Australia, Tennis Professionals Marketing and Moonee Valley Racecourse;

 

  • Helping to orchestrate the media launch the Bass Strait ship Spirit of Tasmania;

 

  • Ongoing responsibility for all public relations, media relations and media buying associated with the largest, annual, international clean and renewable energy conference and exhibition in Australia, including obtaining extensive mainstream and trade media coverage;

 

  • Handling all media relations throughout the Asia-Pacific region in the lead up to and during Forex98, the most significant foreign exchange congress in Australia for a decade;

 

  • Promoting the “buy digital” message for the Photo Imaging  Council of Australia – the peak body for the photographic industry – through strategic media relations and handling all public relations over several years for the largest photo imaging show in the Southern Hemisphere;

 

  • Developing and providing content (including text, audio/visual and photographic) for the Victorian Premier and Treasurer's web sites;

 

  • Preparing newsletters, annual reports, fliers and marketing material for a range of organisations including Department of Defence and Securenet;

 

  • Media relations activities, including developing companies' profiles in the mainstream media and producing regular news releases for a raft of clients across a vast array of industry sectors;

 

  • Introducing White Pages on the Internet for Telstra;

 

  • Developing a public information program for the Department of Defence leading up to the announcement of the relocation of the East Coast Armament Complex to Point Wilson (near Geelong);

 

  • Extensive event management and strategy planning, inevitably working to harsh deadlines, for the Victorian Government's technology arm;

 

  • Creating and coordinating all elements of regular, high-level business forums involving Cabinet Ministers and senior industry and academic figures over several years for GHD, a large, international firm of engineering consultants;

 

  • Developing and conducting media skills and/or presentation/public speaking courses for hundreds of corporate and government clients;

 

  • Working successfully with the Chief Executive of the body representing one of Australia's major diseases to lobby the Federal Government and Opposition to increase its commitment to the illness, which claims hundreds of lives each year;

 

  • Orchestrating and overseeing the opening of one of Australia's largest removalists' new multi-million dollar national headquarters, coinciding with the company's 50th anniversary celebrations;

 

  • Helping to develop the profile of resources-based company Ausmelt Limited, by implementing a carefully tailored PR strategy based on effective media and investor relations, including upgrading and coordinating all business collateral and marketing communications material;

 

  • Devising a Code of Conduct and Ethics for the management, staff, franchisees and agents of an Information Technology company;

 

  • Designing attitude studies for the Office of Surveyor General and Southern Rural Water;

 

  • Producing, directing and appearing in corporate audio and video productions; and

 

  • Offering daily, strategic advice on communications and media management to the highest echelons of executive and management, dealing with sensitive issues such as takeovers, retrenchments, product recalls and annual results, usually working to tight deadlines.
